Short: Another talking Homer for your WB! ;)
Author: eesposito@usa.net (Emiliano Esposito)
Uploader: eesposito@usa.net (Emiliano Esposito)
Version: 1.0
Type: util/misc
Requires: OS 2.0+(V37), some sound.datatype and picture.datatype
and original Homer1.x as found on Aminet (or the set of samples I
have made, see below).
NewHomer - this is just like the old Homer1.5/1.6 found on Aminet... it has
just some more options and is totally RTG friendly (the old one
wouldn't zoom correctly the animation on truecolor screens).
In case you didn't ever seen original Homer, this is a program that shows
you an animation of Homer Simpson, that can talk, burp (ops! :)) and will
change its mood while following the mouse pointer.
REQUIREMENTS: you will require to download the original Homer... if you don't
want to loose too much time, just download the set of samples I
use... there are some more samples configured than those found
with the original Homer. The file name is "NewHomer_SAMPLES.lha"
in this same directory.
titlebar.image by Massimo Tantiglione, which is included in the
archive and will be installed by the installer.
Os V38 at least is required (lower versions won't work... I think
if anyone wants to test it under V37, please let me know).
Then you will require ONE sound.datatype and ONE picture.datatype:
I suggest you to have at least WAVE, 8SVX and ILBM ones, if you
don't have these, you can't use Homer... or you can convert the
sound and gfx samples to the datatype you have. ;)
The file HomerAnim.gif included in the archive is an IFF image
despite its name... Oh, yes, this is _NOT_ Windoze and that LAME
filetype recognition system...
NewHomer_DATA.lha - this is ONLY required if you are installing
Homer for the first time and/or you want some extra/new features/
samples.
INSTALLATION: double click on the provided installer icon, or just copy the
content of this archive over the old Homer directory. Plus you'll
need to copy the "titlebar.image" file into the "SYS:CLASSES/IMAGES"
drawer.
Then you can edit (if you want) the NewHomer.conf file (see doc.)
to add your own samples to the program. After doing this you _CAN_
delete the following files from the old Homer archive:
Homer - Main program
homer/libs/ (or LIBS:) - matrix.library and swazconfig.library
unless some other program uses them...
If you don't have Homer installed, or you don't want to loose time
editing this file, then you can download my own data file (config +
samples + iff picture) on Aminet and copy its content to the same
directory.
VARIOUS: see the accluded documentation inside for all the rest!
BUGS: Should have none, tested under 3.5, MuForce, Wipeout (like Mungwall)
and these reported no hits.
